Xavier Bardou (KARBON) is a French artist who fuses Pop Art, Street Art and embedded technology. Founder of the Artronic movement, he creates interactive works with sensors and LEDs from his Paris studio.
Long format (≈ 120 words)
Born in 1970 in Paris, Xavier Bardou works under the name KARBON. A press photographer for Ici Paris from 1998 to 2005 (Hachette Filipacchi group), he developed a parallel visual practice mixing multi-layer stencil, urban collage and manga iconography. Since 2020, he has founded the Artronic movement — a fusion of Pop Art, Street Art and embedded technology. His works integrate ESP32 microcontrollers, presence sensors and addressable LEDs: they react in real time to the viewer's gaze. His Paris studio produces unique pieces and numbered limited editions.
